At the request of Poets for Human Rights, Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard is issuing a proclamation designating the second week of December as Clearwater Human Rights Week.

Poets for Human Rights celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, hosted by Larry Jaffe, Youth for Human Rights International Poet Laureate. The program includes presentation of the 2008 Humanitarian Awards, winners of the 2008 Anita McAndrews Award and 2008 Alexander Popoff Youth Award poetry contests, reading of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, poetry and entertainment. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
